Community Network

Communities of innovation distinguish C2IAC as the leader in coordinating and harnessing the collective power of developers, partners, employees, customers and others integral to the shared success of each community.

Collectively, C2IAC communities of innovation work seamlessly and collaboratively to users in the new area of innovation.
Community network is a term used broadly to indicate the use of networking technologies by and for a local community.

Community networks often provide free web space, e-mail, and other services for free, without advertising. Community network organizations often engage in training and other services and sometimes are involved in policy work.

The primary goals of a community network may include providing a sustainable, trusted platform for an urban neighborhood, suburban village or exurban town or region to enhance a vital community and functioning democracy; closing of the digital divide across socio-economic lines; offering easier access to already existing information and services; promotion of local economic development and employment; strengthening of local identity; and/or revitalization, promotion, and/or maintenance of local communal ties.
